WAYNE AUTON

Specialist Retrieval Practitioner

Wayne joined the North East Ambulance Service in 2007 as a student paramedic after leaving the Royal Marines. After qualifying in 2009 he worked on a rapid response unit in a busy city centre station before moving to Scotland in 2012. Wayne has experience as a team member in a Scottish mountain rescue team and has worked on both Helimed 76 and Helimed 5. After a short time back in his native North East of England he was back in Scotland as a Search and Rescue winchman based in Aberdeen.

With a strong interest in critical care and having spent the last 6 years preparing himself for a position with EMRS he finds himself living his dream as one of the newer Retrieval Practitioners with the service.

In his spare time Wayne enjoys Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, Snowboarding and cycling.
