Ewan joined the Scottish Ambulance Service in 2014 following a career in the Oil & Gas Industry as a Subsea Welding Engineer.  Becoming a Paramedic was a childhood ambition and following the birth of his son, he decided to change his career path.  Ewan worked primarily in Aberdeen’s city station where he qualified there as a Paramedic, later transferring to the Air Wing division on Aberdeen's King Air fixed-wing.  In 2020, the launch of Scotland’s Charity Air Ambulance (SCAA) saw Ewan as clinical team lead on the new HM79 rotary platform.  After completing his PG Dip in Advanced Practice Ewan has recently started working towards his MSc in Advanced Practice.  

Ewan has an interest in pre-hospital critical care and critical care retrieval along with a passion for aviation, currently holding a private pilot’s license and flying for a skydive team in his spare time.
