LUCY HUTTON

Advanced Retrieval Practitioner

Lucy is an Advanced Retrieval Practitioner and joined EMRS in December 2020. In 2008 she started her career as a registered nurse within critical care before transferring to the emergency department. In 2011, Lucy returned to two years full time education to retrain as a paramedic and upon qualifying worked within the East Midlands. Over the next nine years she undertook a variety of roles within the service including Clinical Support Manager and HEMS paramedic with Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire Air Ambulance. Lucy also maintained dual NMC/HCPC registration up until 2018.

Lucy is currently studying for her MSc in Advanced Practice and has an active interest in clinical simulation training. She is an ALS instructor, a member of the ATACC faculty, a BASICS Scotland responder and an occasional lecturer on the undergraduate Paramedic Science degree course at Glasgow Caledonian University.

In her spare time, Lucy can normally be found somewhere on the Ayrshire coastline with her three French Bulldogs. She is an avid reader, keen cook and very novice paddleboarder.
